TATE Liverpool

Along with Tate St. Ives in Cornwall, Tate Britain in London, and Tate Modern in London, Tate Liverpool is an art gallery and museum in Liverpool, Merseyside, England. The Merseyside Development Corporation spearheaded the project to build the museum. The Tate Liverpool was established to house artwork from the Tate Collection, which includes both worldwide modern art and the country’s holdings of British art from 1500 to the present. The gallery also offers a schedule of transient displays. The largest modern and contemporary art gallery in the UK outside of London up until 2003 was located at Tate Liverpool.
